Thessaloniki’s 85th TIF Ready to Put Live Exhibitions Back in Business

The 85th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), one of the country’s largest trade events, is ready to welcome participants and visitors to a safe environment in the northern port city between September 11-19.

Organized by TIF-Helexpo, the fair will be held as an in-person event, under strict health protocols for Covid-19, at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center.

This year, TIF will host over 900 direct and indirect exhibitors from 15 countries namely Cyprus, Vietnam, Armenia, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Romania, Italy, Russia, Serbia, Malta, Bulgaria and Germany.

According to the organizer, TIF will be the first major European Covid-free event taking place in the region while “it will mark the restart of both exhibition activity and of the Greek economy”.

During a press conference on Tuesday, TIF-Helexpo CEO Kyriakos Pozrikidis highlighted that the 85th TIF will take place after a year of absence as an event of great quality and under special specifications.

“Following its cancellation last year, TIF returns and opens its doors with the aim to make Thessaloniki an exhibition and conference hub in the greater region,” Deputy Interior Minister (Macedonia-Thrace) Stavros Kalafatis said during the press conference.

Greece will be honored country

Greece will be the honored country at this year’s TIF. The fair will focus on its past, present and future as the country celebrates the 200th anniversary since the 1821 Greek War of Independence.

Meanwhile, a parallel historic and cultural exhibition will focus on the 1821 Greek Revolution, the Macedonian Struggle and the 1912-13 Balkan Wars that led to the liberation of northern Greece.

The 85th TIF will also host Greece’s 13 regions at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center. The regions will showcase their historic development and current production capability.

The fair will also put emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, education, energy-electromobility, circular economy and recycling.

Furthermore, during September 13-17, TIF will host concerts, events and special tributes with popular artists, under strict health regulations for Covid-19.

In addition, the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum will take place for a second year, with over 110 speakers and 19 thematic sessions.
