The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) is calling on its member hotels to adhere to a series of revised Covid-19 protective measures, that were announced by the Greek government earlier this week, following a spike in coronavirus cases in the country.

The new “emergency rules” will be in effect at least until 6am on November 8.

More specifically according to the government decision:

– masks are obligatory in all indoor spaces and all outdoor spaces where there are crowds

– safe distancing of 1.5 meters between people or one person per 2m2 indoors and outside irrelevant of Covid venue status (mixed or vaccinated-only)

– immediately available 70 percent alcohol hand sanitizer on tables etc

– establishments (hotels, restaurants, etc) are obliged to publicly display safety rules as well as the permitted number of people allowed in the given space

– regular air cleansing/filtering.

Revised regulations for indoor dining/cafe areas at Greek hotels and airports:

– mandatory mask-wearing by staff as well as guests at reception or indoors

– up to 10 people per table

– operation at 65 percent capacity

– no live music

– no events, gatherings, functions

– hotels with more than one outdoor dining area can designate vaccinated-only or Covid recovered (in the last six months) areas, indicate this clearly, and operate at full capacity (100%) in these spaces.

Additionally in this case:

– mandatory sanitization of menus and tables after each customer

– mandatory use of mask by staff

– customers must display Covid-19 certificate or proof of recovery. Customers aged four-11 will be required to present a negative  self-test result; customers aged 12-17 must show negative PCR or rapid test result.

The same health protocols apply to catering or F&B services offered in outdoor spaces at hotels.

Yet again screw the singers and performers. Maybe if the government actually enforced the rules they already brought in. Things would not be so bad. But nooo just ban singers and live music YET AGAIN!!! Sooo many venues not checking vaccine passports and nothing done about THAT. It’s a disgrace
