Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias signs the concession agreement for the upgrade of the Nafpio marina.

Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias on Friday signed a concession agreement with the municipal port fund for the use of the land and sea zone at the Nafplio marina.

The agreement paves the way for upgrade works to begin at the marina, which, once completed, will have a mooring capacity of 210 vessels.

According to Kikilias, the Nafplio marina development project will upgrade the city’s tourism product, attract more visitors to the wider region, and create many new jobs.

Although the property limits of the marina were determined in 2009, the upgrade project had come to a halt due to bureaucratic issues.

The concession agreement was signed in the presence of Argolida MP Yiannis Andrianos; Secretary General for Tourism Development Vicky Loizou, Peloponnese Governor Panagiotis Nikas, Nafplio Mayor Dimitris Kostouros, Nafplio Municipal Port Fund President Anastasios Zafeiris.
