The new green retreat outside Athens covers 70 acres of land and includes activities for kids and grownups such as: – Water Maze – where you can meet up, dance and play around an interactive fountain with hundreds of water jets – Forest Playground – where you can connect with nature – Zen Garden – where Mediterranean flora and calming waters offer a chance for respite, calmness and awareness – Outdoor Fitness – for those keen on doing some deep breathing, stretching or exercise among trees, along trails and on free-to-use outdoor equipment. The Ellinikon Experience Park is open every day from 5pm to 10pm starting on December 20. Christmas at the Ellinikon Experience Park The Ellinikon Experience Park will be decorated for the holiday season and feature dancing light installations and favorite celebrity chef Akis Petretzikis making Christmas sweets and goodies under a 17-meter Christmas tree. Christmas and New Year’s activities run from December 20 to January 9, daily from 5pm to 10pm. There is free parking and admission is also free with adherence to current Covid-19 protocols. The project was completed six months after Lamda Development, the company behind the mega-Ellinikon project to go up at the former Athens airport on the city’s southern coast, finalized the contract for the project. The Ellinikon Experience Park is part of a larger metropolitan park to be constructed under the deal, and to include the creation of a metropolitan park, residential zones, schools and special utility infrastructures, tourism, sports and entertainment facilities. Last week, Lamda Development said it would invest more than 600 million euros in the creation of a new state-of-the-art commercial and business center: the Ellinikon Commercial Hub.
