Covid-19 Government measures Greek Authorities ‘Strongly Advise’ Easter with Masks, 4th Vaccine Dose for Over-60s by GTP editing team 6 April 2022 written by GTP editing team 6 April 2022 2 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 26 Greek health authorities are strongly recommending the use of face masks over Easter to ensure protection against Covid-19, while the country’s committee of experts is monitoring the development of the virus before making any decisions to further lift restrictions, said Deputy Health Minister Mina Gaga this week. Speaking to local media, Gaga said the health ministry was “strongly advising” over-60s and those in vulnerable groups to get the fourth dose (or second booster shot) against the virus. She underlined that the booster (4th dose), which comes four months after the first booster, was strictly optional and that it would not affect the validity or duration of vaccination certificates. “It should be clarified that the ‘strong recommendation’ for vaccination with a second booster (4th dose) concerns all citizens over 60 years old,” the ministry said. Meanwhile, Health Ministry General Secretary Marios Themistocleous announced this week that the online platform to book the fourth dose (second booster) against Covid would open on Thursday, April 7 for those over 60. Looking ahead, Gaga said it was highly likely that the additional booster shot may be required for the whole population come fall. “I think that from September on it [the virus] will be like the flu, winter will be ahead, it will be a long time since the vaccine, I think we will go for an annual dose or a booster dose,” she said. Regarding the Covid certificates and whether they will be faded out, Gaga said Greece was keeping to the same policies practiced across Europe, adding that for the time being, the certificate will continue to be required for admission to indoor restaurants, bars and recreational venues. On Tuesday, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported 18,988 new Covid-19 cases and 70 deaths. We were boostered last September just before we headed to Greece for 2 weeks. It made us feel that much safer. Reply T Ferguson 7 April 2022 - 11:35 Pfzier just released documents that show they knew that after vaccination the immune system stopped working for a week, this lets other under laying illness run wild. Why you wanting to kill so many people. Data is out showing vaccinated people in middle age death rates are sky high. And all the studies into mask wearing show they do not work, in fact wearing for a long time is dangerous. Just look at the people dying who were vaccinated Shane Warne’s son said he was really ill after being vaccinated. What you should be doing is testing people for antibodies, natural immunity is ten times better than the failed vaccination.
