The list, part of the guide’s Family Travel Trend Report 2023, was compiled based on Google volume searches and Instagram vacation posts related to popular destinations in the US and across the globe. According to the report, Greece ranked 7th among the world’s top family holiday destinations with an overall score of 7.96 out of a possible 10. Spain, Turkey and Italy were the list’s top 3 followed by Fiji (4th) and Portugal (5th). Furthermore Paris, Dubai and Rome won the first three spots as the world’s most popular holiday destinations among families for 2023 with Hawaii and San Diego, California managing top mentions in other US-related lists. Photo © Greek Travel Pages (GTP) Overall, cruise, city break, and beach vacations were among the favorite choices of those surveyed, with ski and backpacking rounding up the top 5 types of vacation with the highest average popularity score. It is also worth noting that according to the company’s 2022 Family Vacation Index, Heraklio, Crete was chosen as the 5th most popular family vacation destination in the world, with Athens placing 22nd and Thessaloniki 41st on the same list.
