A recent study by Tourix, a leading digital tourism marketing company, has released a study naming the best and worst airports in Greece with results based on Google user reviews. The study evaluated various factors, including passenger experience, cleanliness, accessibility, and overall customer satisfaction at Greek commercial airports that were operating during the research period. Best airport in Greece: Nea Achialos Airport According to the research, the Nea Achialos Airport located 24 kilometers from Volos, Thessaly, managed the top spot with a 4.5 average Google rating and positive reviews about its location, infrastructure, staff and cleanliness. Limnos airport. Athens International Airport came in second with an average score of 4.4 receiving high marks for its facilities, efficient services, shops, transportation links and cleanliness. The Samos Airport (4.4 average rating), the Limnos Airport (4.3) and the Thessaloniki International Airport (4.2) rounded up the top 5 with positive mentions for their organization, cleanliness, polite and helpful staff. Thessaloniki’s airport was also praised for its Greek traditional food shop. Boasting an average score of 4.2, the Sitia Municipal Airport (6th), the Alexandroupoli Airport (7th) and the Ioannina Airport (8th) also received high praise for their cleanliness and free parking offer, as well as their friendly staff, easy-to-navigate terminals, and quick check-in and security procedures. Worst Greek airport: Heraklion International Airport The study also revealed the worst airports in Greece with Heraklion International Airport on Crete scoring the lowest overall score: 2.7. The study found that it was considered too small for the passenger volumes it serves. Negative remarks were also made regarding the airport’slack of cleanliness, staff shortage, rude employees, long check-in time and lack of air conditioning. The airports of Greek popular destinations Santorini and Mykonos, follow Heraklion on the Worst Greek Airport list with an average rating of 3 and 3.2 respectively. Heraklio airport. Santorini’s airport got the thumbs down for its small number of shops and duty free and size, while Mykonos airport was negatively criticized for its insufficient seating areas, lack of security and long queues at check-in and airport shops. Rounding up the top five Karpathos airport (3.2) got poor reviews for the lack of busses connecting the island’s main town with the airport, old infrastructure, lack of air conditioning and cleanliness while Kos airport (3.3) got negative remarks for its staff and small size. Mykonos Airport. The airports of Paros (score: 3.4) and Milos (score: 3.4) round up the list of Greece’s worst airports getting the thumbs down for their size, outdated infrastructure, and lack of cleanliness or air conditioning, among other reasons. Die fehlende Klimatisierung ist ein nationaler Notstand undmüsste von MP Mitsotakis persönlich sofort eingerichtet werden.
