The top 10 most searched for destinations by Greeks seeking Airbnbs during January-March this year were Gaios (Paxi), Limnos, Skyros, Tinos, Schinousa, Kimolos, Anafi, Thassos, Areopolis, and Lesvos. According to data published by the home-sharing giant, overnights stays by Greeks at short-term rentals increased by 50 percent compared to 2021 reflecting traveler demand to seek more affordable accommodation. Rooms go for an average of 81 euros in Greece compared to 100 dollars at most other worldwide destinations. Short-term rentals on offer in Greece also garnered high scores for quality with 80 percent of stays awarded 5 stars, the highest rating. The main booking categories for Greek Airbnb users are Beach, Cities, Rooms, National Parks and Skiing. Schinousa, Greece. For the summer ahead, Greek travelers are interested in sun, sights and hikes with the top five booking categories being: beach, iconic cities, seaside, Cycladic homes and national parks. Greeks interested in traveling abroad in Q1 searched for Airbnbs in the following destinations: Valletta (Malta), Vienna (Austria), Rome (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Madrid (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal), Paris (France), Milan and Venice (Italy), and Amsterdam (Netherlands). This week the home-sharing company announced the launch of Airbnb Rooms, as well as more than 50 new features and improvements.
