More specifically, the GNTO’s Sustainablegreece.co.uk platform clinched the silver award in the Responsible and Sustainable Travel Marketing category for promoting sustainability initiatives and best practices taking place in Greece to the UK market. The ambitious project is part of an ongoing national sustainable tourism strategy which the GNTO’s UK-Ireland branch has been promoting through a series of webinars and workshops on the subject. At the same time, the site aims to introduce UK travelers to sustainable tourism options on offer in Greece while raising awareness about the need to protect destinations and communities. Among others, the site features substantiable best practices, future green projects, sustainable experiences, sustainable initiatives and sustainable holidays as well as destinations implementing smart technologies in this direction. The Travel Marketing Awards, organized every year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Group, recognize exceptional travel marketing initiatives in 32 categories rewarding originality, creativity, innovation and relevancy delivered by brands, teams and individuals spanning advertising, marketing, digital and PR. Other winners this year included TUI UK (In-House Team of the Year), ABTA (Travel Brand of the Year), Finn Partners (PR Agency of the Year), G Adventures and Intrepid Travel (Marketing Responsible and Sustainable Tourism).
