The Navarino Challenge 2023 event, which will be held during October 13-15 at Costa Navarino and Pylos, has announced its schedule of activities, which includes over 40 sporting events and 20 Olympic sports. Organized by ActiveMedia Group, the event will run under the motto “Sports Unites People” and will see the participation of people of all ages and abilities, both amateurs and professionals, from Greece and abroad. A number of running activities will take place during the event such as the Navarino Challenge Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km route, 5km route, 1km running route for young people 10-14 years old, and 1km running route for children up to 9 years old. Pylos will also host activities including a 2km walking event, a skateboarding activity and an information and awareness seminar for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. The event offers activities for everyone, regardless of age or ability, including: Football clinics with the European champion Giorgos Karagounis Basketball clinics with the Olympic champion Evina Maltsi and the EuroLeague legend Joe Arlauckas Taekwondo with the Olympian Michalis Mouroutsos Beachathlon with the Olympian and European champion Periklis Iakovakis Pickleball induction & game play and King of the Court beach volley tournaments with Michalis Triantafyllidis 4on4 basketball tournament Wheelchair basketball demonstration with the champion Georgia Kaltsi and the Paralympian Makis Kalaras Knock out Challenge Tennis demonstration with the Greek champion in wheelchair tennis and member of the Greek National team Giorgos Lazaridis Masterclasses by Miele’s Chef Ambassador Panos Ioannidis Sweet treats and Pasta day by Miele’s Chef Alexandros Synkiridis Men’s & Women’s Round Robbin Tournaments with UTS format Navarino Challenge. High intensity training for all ages Crossfit Baby swimming up to 3 years Sunset beach pilates lessons Spinning challenge for all ages Padel tournament Sunset beach yoga Water sports (kitesurfing, windsurfing, windsurfing foiling, wing foiling, SUP, tandem SUP, kayaking in Sphacteria, wakeboarding, waterskiing, wakesurfing) Aqua aerobic Cleaning of Gialova beach Running for a good cause All proceeds from the marathon race, as well as 50 percent of the proceeds from all the other running routes, will be donated to improve sanitation facilities in Uganda. Sustainable practices The Navarino Challenge will be the first in the world to give participants a medal made from recycled Poseidonia leaves. Also, the prizes given at the honorary awards will be made from PHEE’s new material, based on espresso coffee waste.
