A Greek delegation headed by GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis will be participating in one of the world’s largest travel trade shows and is expected, among others, to promote Greece as a leader in sustainable tourism. The Greek team will also meet with tour operators and airline companies to discuss actions for 2024, organize events on sustainability and female entrepreneurship, and finalize a deal with MasterCard. Photo source: GNTO Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni will be attending the WTM Ministers’ Summit, held in association with UNWTO and WTTC, on Monday. On the same day, Kefalogianni will join the GNTO press conference in the International Media Centre to address an audience of foreign journalists. The press conference will serve as an opportunity to unveil significant developments on Greece’s multifaceted commitment to sustainability, tourism priorities, trade advancements, diversity strategies, and accessibility projects. Photo © Greek Travel Pages (GTP) Greece is participating at WTM London this year with a newly redesigned 900m2 stand – Visit Greece – where co-exhibitors, including local governments, airline companies, Greek airports, companies, hotels, travel agencies and tour operators, tourism startups and other tourist services provider, will be showcasing their products. The GNTO’s stand will be hosting some 100 exhibitors at venues N3-515 and N3-210. On the sidelines of WTM London, Greece will be organizing the “Sustainability Marathon” focusing on the Greek tourism sector’s sustainability efforts, and the “Greek Women Mean Business” event which will feature female entrepreneurs innovating in tourism. Lastly, the GNTO is scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with MasterCard. Under the agreement, the GNTO will officially become a member of the “MasterCard Tourism Innovation Hub”, which develops solutions to support tourism sector innovation, research and collaboration.
