As part of its partnership with leisure airline Jet2, the Halkidiki Tourism Organization’s (HTO) held a press trip aimed at enhancing Halkidiki’s appeal to British travelers and showcasing its many attractions and unique experiences. From June 4 to 8, bloggers experienced Halkidiki’s tourism offerings, explored the region’s historical sights and sampled its rich gastronomy. During the press trip, the bloggers took guided tours of the area’s main cultural monuments, including the restored Cave of Petralona, Ancient Stagira, and Ancient Olynthos. They also visited traditional settlements such as Athitos, Arnea, and Old Nikiti. Additionally, they sampled local honey and wine at tastings and took part in experiential activities at local agro-food units and farms. Afterwards, the bloggers relaxed and swam in the crystal-clear waters of Halkidiki. Throughout the trip, bloggers enjoyed regional cuisine through traditional Greek recipes made with fresh seafood and local products. As a result, the bloggers took to social media and posted about Halkidiki’s unique features and shared their stories with their followers, boosting Halkidiki’s reputation as a top-choice holiday destination. Established in 2018, the partnership between the HTO and Jet2 has significantly contributed to the annual increase in British visitors to the region “Our long-standing partnership with Jet2 continues to bear fruit, and we are confident this initiative will attract even more British tourists to our beautiful region,” highlighted the organization’s president, Grigoris Tasios.
