Elie Milky

Vice President of Development, Radisson Hotel Group

As the hospitality landscape evolves, strategic investments become paramount for hotel brands seeking to expand their global footprint. In a dynamic market like Greece, where ancient heritage blends with modern allure, Radisson Hotel Group has emerged as a pioneering force, spearheading transformative developments across the country.

In 2023, Radisson Hotel Group made significant strides in Greece, securing agreements for flagship properties such as the Radisson Theatrou Square in Athens and the Radisson Blu Resort in Mani. These ventures not only underscore the group’s commitment to prime investment destinations but also signal a broader vision aimed at redefining Greece’s hospitality landscape.

The choice of investment destinations is a meticulous process guided by a blend of market analysis and strategic foresight. Greece, with its rich cultural tapestry and burgeoning tourism sector, aligns seamlessly with the company’s vision for growth and innovation. By strategically expanding beyond Athens to regions like the Peloponnese, Radisson Hotel Group demonstrates a holistic approach to investment, encompassing both mainland destinations and idyllic island retreats.

So, what sets Greece apart as an attractive investment target? The answer lies in its diverse offerings, from historic landmarks to sun-kissed beaches, each region presenting unique opportunities for hospitality development. For us at Radisson Hotel Group, the allure of Greece extends beyond conventional metrics, encompassing cultural vibrancy, natural beauty, and untapped potential with a flow in investment activity, government incentives and a very low international hospitality brand penetration when compared to most Mediterranean and European markets.

When evaluating investment prospects, we prioritize adaptability, recognizing the need to tailor offerings to suit diverse market segments. From boutique retreats to sprawling resorts, each property is meticulously curated to reflect the essence of its surroundings while upholding the group’s hallmark standards of excellence.

Take, for instance, the Radisson RED Mitropoleos Square in Athens—the takeover of a listed office building in the historic heart of the capital to transform it into a dynamic lifestyle hotel. This adaptive approach not only showcases the group’s agility but also underscores its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and attractive returns on investment for our partners.

Looking ahead to 2024, Radisson Hotel Group remains poised to chart new territories, with plans to expanding in Athens, enter Thessaloniki and venture into untapped island and leisure markets and other city locations. This forward-looking strategy underscores the group’s confidence in Greece’s hospitality potential and its unwavering commitment to driving sustainable growth.

In a landscape increasingly crowded with international brands, Radisson Hotel Group’s expansion signifies more than just commercial ambition—it’s a vote of confidence in Greece’s tourism resurgence. As luxury brands join the fray, Greece emerges as a premier luxury destination, poised to captivate discerning travelers worldwide.

But amidst this burgeoning competition, is there still room for international brands in Greece? Absolutely.

Radisson Hotel Group’s diverse portfolio and expansive vision position it as a formidable player in Greece’s evolving hospitality landscape. By fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and championing sustainability, the group reaffirms its commitment to shaping the future of Greek tourism.

As the country embarks on a transformative journey, Radisson Hotel Group stands at the forefront, a beacon of hospitality excellence illuminating the path ahead. With each new venture, the group not only enriches the guest experience but also contributes to the cultural tapestry of Greece, ensuring that its legacy endures for generations to come.

In conclusion, Greece’s allure as a prime investment destination is undeniable, and Radisson Hotel Group’s strategic vision underscores its pivotal role in shaping the country’s hospitality landscape. With bold ambitions and unwavering dedication, the group is poised to redefine Greek tourism, one unforgettable experience at a time.

Here’s hoping that the Radiusson Blue Mani Resort will respect the sea turtle nesting activity on the beach in front of the resort. It’s an important sea turtle nesting beach in the Mani.
