Western Greece Region Showcases its Investment and Tourism Potential to Diplomats

The advantages of Western Greece as a field of tourism development and investment progress were showcased by the Vice Governor of the Achaia Regional Unit, Fokion Zaimis, during a meeting with the ambassadors of Georgia, Ukraine, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Zaimis recently met with the Ambassador of Georgia, Levan Beridze; the Chargé d’Affaires acting as Ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Liashenko; and the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Vukovic.

During their meeting, the Vice Governor informed them about the investment profile of the Region of Western Greece, the public projects that are upgrading the image of the area, and the collaborations on issues related to businesses in the region.

“We discussed cooperation and the strengthening of commercial, tourism, and other relations,” Zaimis stressed, adding that multilevel collaboration in the region is imperative.

Officials also discussed strengthening their cooperation to foster interaction with local authotrities in their respective countries. Despite differences in local government structures, the delegates agreed that closer collaboration between them is beneficial on multiple levels.

“New opportunities are now emerging, particularly in innovation and agricultural products, allowing us to pave new paths and create fresh opportunities for the citizens and businesses of the Western Greece Region and Achaia,” the Governor added.
