The event showcased the talent and the creativity of seven young chefs in respect to creating innovative breakfast ideas from a “destination dining” point of view. Greek breakfast will be established in all hotels of the country as a start of the promotion of Greek cuisine as one of the most key representative forms of Greek tourism, Hellenic Chamber of Hotels representative, Yiorgos Pittas, said recently. Mr. Pittas announced the chamber’s initiative during the food event “Kalimera! with taste,” hosted at the 42nd Xenia in late November at the Metropolitan Expo Center at Athens International Airport. Specifically, the chamber’s initiative aims for the satisfaction of the hotel guest through contact with local products and the cuisine of each destination. Mr. Pittas said the chamber would publish an information manual for hoteliers with menu suggestions per area (bread, cheese, sausages, pies, omelettes, fruit, jams, cakes) and a list that would describe the characteristics of each region’s cuisine with local adaptations.
