Now in their third year, the FoodTrekking Awards recognize excellence in both individual businesses as well as destinations. Interested food, beverage, travel & hospitality companies and tourism offices are invited to apply. Applications will close on November 19, when the judges begin to process the entries. Winners will be announced on January 4, 2018. The FoodTrekking Awards recognize excellence in 14 food and beverage tourism industry categories including Best Foodie Destination Experience, Best Beer Experience, Best Food/Beverage/Travel Blogger and (new for 2018) Best Food Travel Technology. Recognition is awarded to First Place and Runner Up entrants in each category. Winners receive an attractive color acrylic plaque to display showing their achievement; acknowledgment on the News page of the World Food Travel Association; and @mentions of the winning business name and category in the World Food Travel Association’s social media channels. The FoodTrekking Awards are another first pioneered by the World Food Travel Association (WFTA), the world’s leading authority on food and beverage tourism. The WFTA was recently introduced to the Greek market. WFTA representatives in Greece are Maria Athanasopoulou, owner of Respond on Demand and Chrysa Krassa of Top Tourism.
