Aviation professionals will gather in Athens, during October 11-13, to exchange views and discuss challenges and opportunities related to their fields at the Second Global Aviation Cooperation Symposium (GACS 2).

Taking place at the Divani Apollon Hotel, the GACS event will be organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in close collaboration with the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority and the Athens International Airport (AIA).

Focused on the theme of “Managing Change: Building a Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation Community”, the symposium will provide a platform for discussion of key issues, exchange of important information on latest trends and innovations and the sharing of best practices supporting a safe and efficient future for global air transport.

Together, governments, airport operators, air navigation service providers and other industry professionals will consider how to improve the coordination and delivery of technical cooperation and assistance across the full spectrum of civil aviation activity.

Topics to be presented include: ICAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme in response to State’s needs; Aviation Security and Facilitation as well as Safety Oversight in the context of Technical Cooperation; Air Navigation Services and new technologies, Airport Development and best practices; Capacity Building and Training; as well as Project Funding and Resource Mobilization for project development.
