SKY express Puts Thessaloniki at the Center of its Flight Program

SKY express announced a 250 percent increase in seat availability to Thessaloniki as well as a new international route and more frequent itineraries to the Greek northern city.

“The key role of the capital of Northern Greece for SKY express is highlighted once again with significant upgrades at all levels,” the company’s management said in a recent announcement.

The Greek airline now has 420,000 seats, an additional 300,000 seats from the same period last year, on offer to and from the Thessaloniki International Airport “Makedonia”.

All flights are served by the newest and greenest fleet in the country and one of the most environmentally friendly in Europe, including the Airbus 320neo with the distinctive name “My Thessaloniki”.

The name, according to management, is a “symbolic move” in return for the great trust the city’s residents have shown in the airline.

The company also recently began its international flight program in Thessaloniki with the launch of direct flights to and from Larnaca, Cyprus. The investment is expected to be strengthened soon and lead the wider area towards a new era of connectivity and further development.

SKY express also flies to London, Paris, Rome, Brussels and Larnaca (from Athens).

On the domestic side, SKY express already operates 73 flights a week from Thessaloniki to 5 domestic destinations (Athens, Heraklion, Mytilene, Chios, Samos). The airline announced the addition of two direct routes to and from the Greek capital, increasing the Thessaloniki-Athens connection to 6 per day.

Travelers to and from Thessaloniki can choose between three fares – SKY joy, SKY joy + and SKY enjoy. Added services include access to its lounges in the airports of Thessaloniki, Athens and Larnaca; and the use of its fast lanes at the respective airports.
