The Attica Region recently participated in the ProWein international wine exhibition, the most important wine exhibition in Germany, for the fourth consecutive year since 2018. One of the leading world exhibitions for wine and beverages, ProWein this year hosted some 6,000 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and 49,000 business visitors from 141 countries, making it an ideal platform for wine producers to showcase their products to a global audience. Greece’s Pavilion at Prowein, organized by Enterprise Greece, hosted eight wine producers from Eastern Attica, representing the wine produced in Attica’s Mesogaia and Lavreotiki zones. The region’s stand also featured a separate information area where visitors could find out more about the special characteristics of Attica’s wines. During the exhibition, a series of B2B meetings were also held at the region’s stand with wine trade representatives from countries such as Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, Britain, Japan, Russia, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Norway, and Cyprus among others. In addition, visitors had the opportunity to get to know and taste Attica’s wines not only at the region’s stand but also at the Free Tasting area supervised by Greek sommeliers G. Michaelos and Christos Saliveros. Family photo at the Greek Pavilion. Photo source: Attica Region. The Free Tasting area, which Enterprise Greece organized and operated for the first time this year, also hosted a seminar titled “The Gems of Greece – A journey to six Greek Varieties“. Held by acclaimed German Master of Wine (MW) Caro Maurer, the seminar included a presentation of Attica’s Savatiano variety to wine lovers. “Our successful participation in ProWein 2023 demonstrates our dedication to promoting our wine industry and connect with potential business partners from around the world,” an announcement by the Attica Region said.
