New Greek National Tourism Organization Secretary General Assumes Duties

On Wednesday, Andreas Fiorentinos officially began his duties as the new Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

He attended his first Board of Directors meeting at the GNTO headquarters in Athens, with GNTO President Angela Gerekou and Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni in attendance. The main focus of the meeting was the formal transfer of responsibilities from the Board to Secretary General Fiorentinos.

In his remarks to the Board, Fiorentinos expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Secretary General, stating that it is an honor to hold the position.

“Tourism is my life. I dedicate myself to it daily, whether through my professional endeavors or the public roles I’ve held in recent years,” Fiorentinos said.

He emphasized that the GNTO’s expertise is crucial, not only for promoting tourism to Greece but also for leveraging its knowledge and partnerships to address the significant challenges facing today’s tourism market.

Fiorentinos also extended his thanks to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Minister Kefalogianni for entrusting him with this important role.

A native of Mykonos, Fiorentinos has devoted his entire professional career to the tourism industry, particularly as a hotelier. His previous roles include Deputy Secretary General of the GNTO (2012–2014), Vice President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, and Secretary General of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation.

For nearly two decades, Fiorentinos served as President of the Mykonos Hoteliers Association. Most recently, he led the tourism sector for the ruling New Democracy party.
